Kobe Bryant – One of the Greatest of all Time
Kobe Bryant a father, a husband and one of the greatest basketball players off all time. We all remember him as a LA Laker. Winning 5 NBA championships, scoring 81 point against the raptors, 18-time all-star and the list goes on and on. He is the face of LA and brought many people together. He also had a long marriage with his wife Vanessa Laine Bryant and they went on to have 4 daughters. Kobe was more than a fantastic ball player; A father, a husband, a businessman and much more. A legend on and off the court.

Where it all began.
We all know him as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. Born in Philadelphia on Augustus 23 in 1978, Kobe’s basketball carrier began on Lower Merion High School in Ardmore, located in the Philadelphia suburb. Here he got nationwide attention during his junior year, he averaged 31.1 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 5.2 assists and was named Pennsylvania Player of the Year. In 1996 17-year-old Kobe decided to go directly to the NBA becoming only the sixth player to do so.
Becoming a Legend.
The hornets selected Kobe for the Lakers because they had a trade agreement. So, Kobe went off to become a LA Laker. In his first 2 years, he needed to adjust to the league as an 18-year-old boy. The Lakers still played him many minutes. He did win the slam dunk contest. In 1999 coach Phil Jackson took over the Lakers and this is when the magic began for Kobe and the Lakers. Kobe became an all-NBA all-star. Kobe – O’Neal was the most feared duo in the NBA. This is when they became championship competitors. The Lakers went off to win 3 championship in a row dating 1999-2002. The Lakers were voted NBA all defensive team 2 times and Kobe was named NBA All Star for 3 years in a row.
Coming up short
In 2002-2004 the Lakers just came up short in the play offs. 2004-2005 Lakers mist the play offs for the first time in over a decade. 2005-2006 season Kobe scored a career high 81 points against the Raptors he also made a franchise record with most 40-point game scored (27) he averaged that season 35.4 point and became scoring leader that year. 2006-2007 season Kobe switch his jersey number to 24 his old high school number.
Final chapter
The Season of 2007-2008. Kobe and the Lakers where back on top and Kobe was announced league MVP. In the season of 2008-2009 The Lakers won the NBA championship and it was Kobe’s 4th championship of his career. He also earned the ‘Finals MVP Trophy’. 2009-2010 Lakers won another Championship as Kobe scored 24 point final average and for the second time in a row, was awarded the ‘Finals MVP’. The next 5 seasons Kobe wanted to chase a sixth championship to match Michael Jordan’s but The Lakers struggled to get to the finals. 2015-2016 Kobe his final season he played in the NBA. The Lakers didn’t do well but Kobe averaged 17 points. During his final game Kobe scored 60 points and won the game against The Jazz.
Kobe Bryant was an unbelievable player with one of the toughest mindsets of all. One of the greatest competitors the game has ever seen. He wrote Basketball History.
