With the continuous effort to further our business, we from Best Friends reached out to Gemmacert, a medicinal plant and research facility, to start collaboration. This collab is meant to strengthen both sides in the following way:
Best Friends will improve it’s first line of defense and receive a brand new source of information.

In early 2021, we got the chance to meet Kim Keller at our Cannacenter in Amsterdam Oudzuid. Kim is the Amsterdam Client Manager from Gemmacert and is well-known in the branche. We’ve had a very pleasant and educative meeting wich may bear it’s fruit in the near future.
Gemmacert?
Gemmacert is an Israelian company that specializes in the engineering of next-generation diagnostic and data solutions in medicinal plants, continuously moving the world of plants forward since it’s founding.
Established in 2015 in collaboration with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (the hub for cannabis research since the 1960s) it has developed an innovative solution that analyzes cannabis and provides reliable potency readings, without harming the flowers or altering their efficacy and commercial value.
Growers, dispensaries, labs and home users can use the device to test an unlimited amount of flowers, which spares them the time and cost involved in batch sampling and lab testing.
The one-of-its-kind device combines 3 technologies: spectrometry, image analysis and data analytics, to provide a real-time, reliable solution for measuring cannabis potency. Results are delivered directly to a proprietary secure app on your smartphone.
Results
After testing our products, we’ve learned a few things. We can safely say that every part of the same plant shows different levels of THC and CBD, but has a pretty balanced ratio. With this new way of testing, Best Friends can quickly tell the overall THC-CBD ratio and thus a clear view on the plants THC content.
Also, Gemmacert is able to tell if the tested cannabis is sprayed with synthetic THC. This is an important and crucial plus of the technology. In 2021 the Dutch Addiction Centre Jellinek put out a warning on this matter, putting the gears of testing throughout the city into motion. The message read that CBD cannabis with synthetic (unhealthy and dangerous) THC was being sold in Amsterdam. Even though Best Friends hasn’t been victim yet, we swiftly took measures to defend ourselves against the spread of said product. With this new technology, we can with certainty say that all our products are safe.
Another big development is coming soon. Soon, we can test our hash with a reasonably honest outcome. This is good news as Best Friends is one of Amsterdam’s most popular hash selling Cannacenters. Sometimes we have to move quick, and now, we can.
Testing twice at our Cannacenter with Gemmacert and Cannabytics
After we’ve tested our cannabis with Gemmacert, for good measure and to be absolutely sure, we send samples directly to our partners at Cannabytics for even more extra extensive testing. Our friends at Cannabytics reveal the terpine profile, content levels and much more. So now, we can honestly say without a doubt:
