Amsterdam Clubbing Scene

Amsterdam has big clubs with bigger-name DJs on the line-up as well as hip underground places and more laid-back joints with an alternative vibe. Have a look at the listings below – whether you’re into techno, house, drum & bass, electro, funk, soul, disco, top 40, rock, indie, hip-hop, r&b or anything in between, you’ll find a club to match your mood. There are plenty of nightlife options, from slick celebrity haunt Jimmy Woo on Leidseplein to hip-hop-head mecca Bitterzoet, from dark electro club Studio 80 to popular dance and house classic Escape on Rembrandtplein and from cool underground discoveriesClub Up, Club Closure and OT301 to all-time faves Melkweg and Paradiso.

Bustling Amsterdam nightlife

Some of the best nights out happen spontaneously: you see a band in Melkweg and decide to hang on for a bit to see what the post-show DJ has to offer. You meet some friends in a cocktail bar and then everyone fancies a dance, so you all jump on your bikes and hit the town. Or you’re at home (or in yourhotel), having planned a quiet night in and all of a sudden decide to finally check out that new club you’ve heard about. These unexpected nights out often turn out to be amazing. But sometimes, you still want to plan your night to make sure to catch your favourite DJs or music style, and it’s always good to have an overview of the clubbing scene, anyway. Check out the regular nights and the event listings, too, to make sure you don’t miss out!
